Mesquite Lutheran Child Care Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation fully licensed by the state of Nevada. One of the primary benefits of being considered tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) is the ability to accept contributions and donations that are tax-deductible to the donor. Additional benefits include, but are not limited to: Exemption from federal and/or state corporate income taxes Possible exemption from state sales and property taxes Ability to apply for grants and other public or private allocations available only to IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations Potentially higher thresholds before incurring federal and/or state unemployment tax liabilities The public legitimacy of IRS recognition Discounts on US Postal bulk-mail rates and other services Mesquite Lutheran Church felt there was a need to provide this necessary outreach to our community. The center opened its doors August 27, 2007, and moved into our new facility on December 14, 2009. We have a permit for 100 children. Because we are a 501(c)(3) organization we have the ability to accept contributions and donations that are tax deductible to the donor. Mesquite Lutheran Church provides most of the outreach money to support the child care facility, but the cost to operate the center exceeds the income from tuition and the church support. Therefore we are soliciting help from the community, both personal and business.
